Galaxy Tab 2(10.1) was the second version of the product in the tablet category for Samsung. Whereas the Galaxy Note 800 is the product which has been launched in the recent times doing a lot of business for the Samsung.
Both the products come with a 10.1 inch screen with the former having PLS TFT capacitive touch screen and the latter is made up of the same PLS TFT capacitive ultra-clarity touch screen. The resolution of the screen in the tablet is maintained to 1280×800. The memory specifications are also the same for both the tablets, with an internal storage capacity of 16GB; 2GB RAM and supports micro SD up to 32GB external memory.
The cameras installed in the tablets are different and upgraded in the newer version. The Galaxy Note 800 has enabled a 5MP camera and a 1.9MP front camera with the 5MP camera having 2592×1944 pixels. The video resolution is also maintained at 720p (30fps). Whereas the Galaxy Tab 2(10.1) has a 3.2MP dorsal camera and 0.3MP front camera. The main camera has a video recording resolution of 1280×720 (30fps). Both the cameras have an adobe integrated flash. Sound specifications are primarily the same with speakers and support 3.5mm jacks for audio connectors. The connectivity specifications are also maintained for a general performance level of 3G, A2DP connection is also enabled.
The Bluetooth version of V4.0 with A2DP is enabled in the Galaxy note 800 whereas the Galaxy Tab 2 is installed withed with the Bluetooth 2.0 version. High speed data connectivity is another main feature of the Galaxy Note 800 up to HSDPA 3200. The Wi-Fi is another feature which is present in both the models but the Galaxy Note is upgraded with the protocols of 802.11 b/g/n. It has high-speed USB (universal serial bus) version 2.0 whereas the Galaxy Tab 2(10.1) considers a USB version 3.0. Both the models are also edge enabled. The Galaxy Note 800 works on the Android ICS operating system version 4.0 whereas the Galaxy Tab 2(10.1) works on the basic version 4.0 of android software.
The hardware consists of the GPU which is Mali-400MP; processor is Core Exynos 4412 with speed 1.4 GHz quad cores. Whereas the Galaxy Tab 2 is built on the Dual Core processor with processing speed 1.0 GHz. Both the tablets have an enables GPS and A-GPS monitoring systems. One of the most important features to attract customers is the battery life of the gadget. The Galaxy Note 800 has a Li-ion type battery with a capacity of 7000mAh with standby time up to 2230 Hours. The Galaxy Tab 2 has a better battery life than the Galaxy Note 800 with standby time up to 2398 Hours, although the capacity and type of the battery is same. The dimensions and weight of both the tablets are nearly the same with the Note 800 weighing few grams lesser.
